About

I am a mechanical engineer by profession with a B.S. and a M.S. I emphasize a diverse set of skills in my personal development and interests, which include software and electrical engineering, computer hardware, art, photography, and more. Some of my projects and endeavors are posted on this site, somewhat like a project journal.

Continuously, I am learning new skills. My studies focus on comprehension and competency rather than on merely passing a test or patching something together. I am comfortable completing tasks with which I have no prior experience. Learning from peers, regardless of their work experience, enriches my knowledge as well as enforces the success of a project. And, I am always willing to teach others.

I collaborate well with others, avoiding misunderstandings through clear communication. I show understanding, patience, and respect toward all people. I never retaliate against anyone for anything. Moreover, I have never sought to embarrass someone in front of others. Regarding people, I always err on the side of mercy and generosity.

My work ethic is one of the highest I have seen. With my previous employer, I kept the strictest timesheet of anyone else I worked with, including managers and supervisors. I approach every project methodically and complete projects thoroughly and cleanly. I do not favor ideas based upon who came up with them; I objectively weigh options and place priority on the quality of work and the success of projects.

I run a tight, tidy ship. This involves clear, regular, and transparent communication. It also involves keeping clean and organized workspaces, not just physical workshops/labs but also digital workspaces like project folders and documentation. Running a tight ship also involves optimizing processes as well as learning and leveraging the unique talents of individuals on a team.

Although I have a friendly, kind demeanor and naturally smile often, I am genuine. I will not praise someone for his/her work only to turn around and give him/her a poor performance review behind his/her back. People deserve the opportunity to improve themselves. And, as mentioned above, when I do have issues with someone, I address the issues respectfully and, when possible, privately. If I have a weakness, it would be that - despite being genuinely friendly - getting close to me personally is difficult. I maintain a personal distance. But, I see this as good judgement in a professional environment.

Overall, I am a tenacious, creative, and cheerful individual. I approach problems uniquely and with vision. Creative problem-solving and learning are part of my identity. I genuinely care about the wellbeing of people around me, and I take the quality of my work seriously. I am "the real deal," and personal recommendations support that.
